"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. " (2 Timothy 2:15)

With the Bible as its foundation, Hillcrest Christian Academy inspires students to excel academically, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. In partnership with parents and the church, the leadership committee and staff create a positive nurturing environment that fosters respect, builds Christian integrity, and encourages life-long learning.

HCA admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin in its educational policies, admissions policies and athletic and other school-administered programs.

Few decisions are as important to parents as the choice of a school for their children. It is there that ideas will impact them, teachers will impress them, and peers will influence them. They will receive the training and educational foundation that will affect them for the rest of their lives. Therefore, we at Hillcrest take our commitment seriously to provide a Christian educational environment which instills the Word of God in students and strives for academic excellence.

Currently we offer a nursery and preschool program, as well as instruction for Kindergarten through eighth grade. The curriculum used for all grades presents a Christian worldview and is academically challenging. Using the Abeka Book phonics-based reading program, we have the most advanced kindergarten program for four and five year olds in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This foundation is then built upon throughout the elementary and middle school grades.

In addition to this, our small classroom setting allows for more one-on-one attention; this is better at meeting the individual needs of each student. These elements are only the beginning of those that combine to create an educational program that can be characterized as one having "Academic Excellence." Hillcrest exists to provide academic excellence through Christian education to join hands with the home to build a strong foundation in Biblical principles for each student.

With our caring Christian environment and quality academic environment, we strive to encourage our students to excel in all that they do, to the glory and praise of God. At HCA, we are determined to remain faithful to the principles and standards of God's Word so that we will be recognized as a school that is "Distinctly Christian."

Yours in Christ,

Dr. Kenneth O. Barbour
