Curriculum

Kindergarten & Elementary

The emphasis on curriculum selection at HCA are those things which support the Christian World View and provide critical thinking skills to produce outstanding students. Early reading is enhanced by a strong phonics and reading program, using the Abeka curriculum beginning in kindergarten and continuing through Grade 6. Using the Abeka and Saxon Math series gives students the opportunity to continually excel in problem solving, computation and geometry, providing a good foundation for the study of higher mathematics. Daily classes in Bible, science, social studies, spelling and language create a thorough, well-rounded learning experience for the elementary students.

Middle School

The emphasis in middle school is the transition between elementary and preparing for high school. The focus includes developing individual responsibility, study habits, setting goals and helping students to become independent learners. We offer a highly challenging academic program. Courses that are offered include science, Bible, French, pre-algebra, algebra 1, American history, world geography, English, computers, yearbook and physical education. Our curriculum integrates a rigorous academic program with a Christ centered foundation.
